Cause of varicose veins

If we know the cause of varicose veins, it will be easier for us to understand the principles of the natural treatment for them.

Veins are the vessels carrying blood toward the heart.

Veins have valves so the blood only flows one way--towards the heart

Varicose veins are permanent dilation and tortuosity of vein's, most commonly seen in the legs, probably as a result of congenitally incomplete valves.

The valves of the veins no longer function properly. They have become stretched from excess pressure. The valves in the veins that prevent blood from flowing backward do not work properly. The deep veins are surrounded by muscles which keep them in shape. It is those close to the surface which develop these problems. So much blood collect that it leaks out into surrounding tissue.

Dr. Denis Burkitt found that varicose veins, hemorrhoids, Diaphragmatic hernia and bowel diverticulosis are the result of intra-abdominal pressure, which must "evolve" in people with small and rigid, abnormal stools (i.e., the lack of fiber in diet).

Varicose veins are caused by thinning of the walls of the veins due to an increase in the pressure on the blood inside the veins.

Strategy for finding relieve for varicose veins will be relieving pressure on the blood to the lower extremities by reducing intraabdominal pressure and by reducing the amount of time spent in standing.
